Where are my notes?

In the folder you chose when you first opened Monthly. Each day is a Markdown file, for example days/2026-11-03.md. On the Mac, the folder button in the toolbar shows it in Finder.

Can I use my Obsidian vault?

Yes. Choose the vault's folder, then open Settings → Note Names → “Use This Vault's Obsidian Settings”, and Monthly names notes exactly as Obsidian does.

How do I sync between devices?

Keep the folder in iCloud Drive, or any folder your devices share. Monthly reads and writes the files directly; it has no server of its own.

I changed how notes are named and some disappeared.

Monthly never renames files. Notes named the old way are still in the folder: switch the naming back, or rename those files.
